Un pequeño paseo por Garrucha, para visitar algunos de los puntos más destacados del Paseo Marítimo o Malecón.
A little stroll around Garrucha, to visit some of the most interesting point of the Paseo Marítimo or Malecón.
Con este paseo habremos recorrido buena parte del Paseo Marítimo de Garrucha, contemplando su baranda de mármol de Macael, y alguno de sus puntos más emblemáticos
El paseo comienza en la plaza de Pedro Gea, que recibe el nombre de un médico que ejerció en Garrucha en el siglo XIX. En esta plaza se encuentran el Ayuntamiento y la Ermita de la Virgen del Carmen.
La plaza se ha remodelado recientemente, y se han incoporado elementos relacionados con el mar, como las farolas en forma de gaviotas y de cañas de pescar, los bancos representando a barcos de pesca y un ancla rescatada del fondo del mar años atrás.
Esta plaza es un buen lugar para tomar el sol en durante los templados días de invierno, o el fresco en las tardes y noches de verano.
Para llegar al segundo de los puntos, situado muy cerca de la plaza, necesitaremos los siguientes datos:

B= Número de Barcos
C= Ventanas en la primera planta de la fachada del ayuntamiento

En este punto nos encontraremos con un busto dedicado a Antonio Cano Cervantes, conocido como “el poeta ciego de Garrucha”. Su obra “Cantos de mi pueblo” refleja la forma de hablar de las gentes del pueblo en los inicios del siglo XX.
De aquí obtendremos datos para llegar al siguiente lugar:

Aquí veremos un monumento dedicado a los emigrantes, que dejaron el pueblo en los años 50 y 60 del siglo XX para buscar fortuna en otros países.
Nos fijaremos en el monumento para obtener más datos:
E= Número de piezas metálicas del monumento.
De aquí iremos a:

Donde encontraremos otro monumento, en este caso dedicado a la gente del mar, origen del pueblo y una de las principales actividades económicas.
En este lugar obtendremos el último dato que nos llevará al punto final de la búsqueda.

Una vez encontrado el caché, tenemos varias alternativas, todas ellas interesantes:
Seguir el paseo por el pueblo, visitar el puerto o el mercado semanal (viernes)
Tomar el sol y un baño en la playa
Reponer fuerzas en alguna de las terrazas o restaurantes que hay a lo largo del Malecón

With this stroll we will go round most of the Paseo Marítimo, contemplating the veranda, made of well known marble of Macael.
The walk starts in the Pedro Gea's square, which is called after a doctor who lived in Garrucha in the 19th Century. In this square you can find the City Hall and the Chapel of La Virgen del Carmen.
The square has been redesigned recently, and some elementes related to the sea have been included, as the seagull and fishing rod-shaped streetlamps, benches representing fishing boats and a rescued anchor.
The square is a good place to sunbathing during the warm winter days, or refreshing in the summer evenings.

Continue the walk around the town, visiting the fishing port or the street market (on Fridays).

Enjoy a drink or a meal in one of the several terraces o restaurants along the Malecón.
