Join us on International C.I.T.O./Earth Day, April 22, 2012 from 5pm till 7pm on the Max Brewer Causeway, in Titusville.
This weekend marks the International Cache In Trash Out's 10th year. CITO or Cache In Trash Out is supported by the geocaching community. For the last 10 years, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving and cleaning up parks, trails, and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!
This year, the SCGA will go all out to say thanks to the community by hosting 4 clean-up events, sprinkled with 2 eat and greet events, covering the Space Coast from Eau Gallie to Titusville. This will be the last CITO event of the day. Feel free to attend as many of the day's 6 events as you like. Just get out and help clean-up Mother Earth. We'll keep the events short, only 2 hours each, so we can pack as much into the day and have the greatest impact.
This little stretch of the causeway is popular with a multitude of recreation seekers, from fishermen to kite-surfers. The particular area around the posted coordinates is popular with fisherman who don't care much to clean up after themselves. We really need a few brave souls to don some water-shoes and get a little wet. There are lots of areas needing help where trash and water meet. This is the reason for the terrain rating, however there's plenty of trash for those who prefer to stay dry. Team Short Stuff will certainly be in the water.
