While the walk is short, it is infested with thorny brush taller than most, and giant, deadly (not really) beavers, who have destroyed a tree or two on this little peninsula. Look due south and you will see the beavers den, next to beaver island. Judging by the size of the trees cut down, the beavers could be considered overachievers. Watch for piles of beaver mulch.
Parking is nearby on the cause way just south of the end of this peninsula. Be sure to tread carefully as it would be easy to fall in the water if you walk the perimeter of this little chunk of land. Be sure to look for the prehistoric looking driftwood stump, which is unusually light for its size.
Other exciting features of this beautiful oasis include the beaver Bench, clearly the highlight of the clearing where a cacher could sit a spell. Take in the lovely view, earned after wrestling through the brush to get to the clearling. Also be sure to walk out on tuning, fork, a great pair of limbs to stand on at the very tip of the 'island' and a good perspective for which to go caching if you have trouble finding it.
GPS accuracy is +- 20 feet
