You are looking for a preform tube which holds a log and pencil only.
This wizard appears to be an elderly and venerable sorcerer. Make sure you treat him with respect as you don't want any of the unwanted kind of spells placed upon you. Particularly if he knows a spell for making caches invisible to you.
If the wizard acknowledges your presence you might try to get him to place a cache finding spell on you.
The cache should be an easy find. There is no need to go onto private property to retrieve or search for the cache. This is a roadside park and grab while you can pose as interested photographers.
