On top of the higher of the Dois Irmãos
To get to this wonderful and rarely visited outlook over the city of Rio de Janeiro you have to go thru the Comunidade do Vidigal, a favela on the Avenida Niemeyer, as the trail starts halfway up the mountain at a place called Vila Olimpia. You should go up there by moto taxi and make sure to go in good shoes and take water. At Vila Olimpia walk straight ahead about 50', thru the sports complex to the trail head. As I neglected to get the coordinates for the trail head, please get them and send them to me.
It will be very difficult to retrieve the cache without the members of the group seeing what you're doing. So, go with friends.
It is strongly recommended to take a guide.
The cache starts with two travel bugs and a couple of semi precious stones.
Starting at sea level you will track to 1738 feet. It will take you between 45 minutes and 1 hour and your prize will be a fantastic view over the ocean, the Lagoa, Pedra da Gavea, the communities of Rocinha and Vidigal, and lots more.
Pouco conhecida a cariocas e estrangeiros também, uma trilha leva ao topo do mais alto dos DOIS IRMÃOS. A cache está no topo mas o premio mesmo é a vista maravilhosa sobre Leblon, Ipanema, Lagoa, Rocinha, Vidigal, Gavea e muito mais.
A cache está a uma altura de 530 metros.
Para chegar até la é preciso subir pela comunidade do Vidigal, para um lugar chamado Vila Olimpia, onde começa a trilha. Eu sugiro que esse percurso seja feito com moto taxi. Chegando à Vila Olimpia, siga em frente atravessando uma parte do complexo esportivo até o começo da trilha. Não anotei a coordenadas do começo da trilha então quem for primeiro, por favor, anotar e me mandar.
É muito aconselhavel ter um guia.
