Finally made the trip, and left a small cache to commemorate it. From th e parking it's 2.3 miles and 1200' up. Sadly, no pets are allowed. BYOP UPDATE 4/06/12. Geosenses told me the cache was in danger, so I made the trip back to check.
It seems that a very rare twoheaded pygmy dragon ate the cache. It must have been blown south from the high mountain reaches to the North in the recent storms. Luckily a rock fell and trapped it at the cache site allowing me to make a deal with it. I told it that I would return often to let it out to fly around if it would let other geocachers a chance to sign the log. After some more bribing, ( a new logbook and some small trinkets) it readily agreed as it has a liking for ink and graphite. Just be sure to cover it up good with rocks so it doesn't fly away.
