Geocache Description:

Camouflaged plastic peanut jar.

The original Sacramento Southern Railroad tooted south 24.3 miles to Walnut Grove. The route went by the outskirts of Sacramento downtown, through Sacramento suburbs, via Freeport and finally here. It was a non-operating subsidary of the Southern Pacific Company.

The line was constructed between 1906–1912, and the first train began operating over the line in 1909. It was merged in 1912 with the Central Pacific Road upon completion of the line to Walnut Grove. The line was extended to Isleton by 1929.

This cached has been hidden in some remnants of this ole line. The terrain is difficult, so be very careful as to your selection of approach. Also be aware of businesses open and possibly in view during the weekdays. This cache is best found on the weekends. THE CACHE IS NOT HIDDEN IN THE TREE. Be careful going by the tree and don't hit your head!
