We have put a new geocache container and log book at the geocahce site today to replace the old one that has gone missing. This geocache is located on the beautiful RingMahon walk, with lovely views across Cork harbour to Little Island and Hop Island. The walk is all on the flat and is also suitable for bicycles, wheelchairs, rollerblading and prams. You can start the walk from either Blackrock castle or the car park opposite the Rochestown Inn.
This geocache is located on the beautiful RingMahon walk, with lovely views across Cork harbour to Little Island and Hop Island. The walk is all on the flat and fully tarmacamed and is also suitable for bicycles, wheelchairs, rollerblading and prams. You can start the walk from either Blackrock castle or the car park opposite the Rochestown Inn. The geocache is approximately a 20 min walk from both start points. A circular walk from Blackrock castle takes you past the geocache, around the railway track which has been converted into a walk, back through Blackrock village to Blackrock castle. This will take you approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes at a leisurely pace. This geocache is a lunchbox containing a trackable (TBQDOX), marble, trump card, crayon, pen and notepad. Blackrock castle is an Observatory and it's exhibition 'Cosmos at the Castle' is suitable for all age groups, where you can learn more about the universe and outer space. There is also a restaurant and coffee shop to revive you after your walk.
