Not sure what is the caving ground. The closest mine is the Osceloa #1 Conglomerate, which is too far to the North. The caving ground, must be some off-shaft, or stope collapse, as there are no shafts close enough to it to be involved.
I was told this road was abandoned because it is too close to a section of caving ground (see the fenced in area to the east) (probably a stope-collapse from the mine to the north (the Osceola #1 Conglomerate)). Check out the old house foundation to the west, the old fire hydrant (I think the old hydrant is still in use (see hydrant's on Store Street)) next to the road, and what appears to be an old well (or outhouse) by the cache. None on the mine buildings from the Osceola#! Conglomerate mine appears to be on this side of the road.
