Lessons Learned Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ms.CallaLily: Since this area has become so overgrown, I decided to retrieve the cache and archive this listing.

Thank you to all who have found this geocache, and especially to those who have posted their "Lessons Learned"! I enjoyed reading all of the logs. 🙂

Geocache Description:

I have learned many important things since I became a geocacher:

* Waypoint the car! I try to remember this if I'll be entering the woods and doing ANY amount of bushwacking. One time after going off-trail for only a few hundred feet, I managed to get disoriented and when I went back to the car, it wasn't there! It took me at least 20 minutes to find it. (Pretty amazing that I am able to find geocaches when I couldn't even find my CAR, huh?)

* If your GPS is pointing you off-trail and you're still a couple of hundred feet away from ground zero, the trail will probably make a turn ahead and it is likely that minimal bushwacking will be required.

* It's weird, but a group of 3 or more geocachers attracts less attention by muggles than a lone geocacher will.

I'm sure that you all have learned a few geo-lessons of your own.

When posting your log, please also tell us of something that you have learned during the time that you have been a geocacher. (And I mean GEOCACHING LESSONS! We are not really interested in knowing that you have learned to speak German, or have learned how to bake a great souffle. Well, maybe we are, but let's limit our posts to geocaching lessons learned, OK?)

The cache is a small Lock & Lock containing a log book and some small trade items. Please bring a pen with you. There is room for small trackables inside, but please make sure you are able to close the container securely.

Paved access to an area near ground zero is through the Stonegate Corporate Park (Highlander Parkway). I know it doesn't look like it on the map here, but you can park within 150 feet of the cache. I DO NOT recommend approaching from Congress Parkway!
