Ma quanto mi piace passeggiare lungo questo fiume! Il nuovo sentiero ciclabile è così bello che non ho resistito e passa una volta; passa la seconda... ecco che vien la voglia di mettere un nuovo cache!
Consideratelo un 3 stelle: la quarta è solo dovuta all'atissima concentrazione di Mugglers che renderanno arduo il recupero in modalità Stealth.
Il Cassarate è un fiume svizzero di modesta portata che scorre nel Canton Ticino, più precisamente nel distretto di Lugano. Le sue sorgenti si trovano nella parte superiore della Val Colla (monte Gazzirola e passo del San Lucio), poco distante dal confine di stato con la Provincia di Como. Il fiume sfocia a pochi passi dal centro della città di Lugano, sulla costa settentrionale del lago Ceresio presso il Lido di Lugano. Lungo il suo percorso bagna i territori dei comuni di Valcolla, Corticiasca, Bidogno, Capriasca, Sonvico, Lugaggia, Cadro, Canobbio e Lugano, in taluni casi segnando i confini tra queste località. L'attuale bacino (che è limitato da canalizzazioni) ha una lunghezza di 18,3 km con una pendenza media del 7%. Ha un solo affluente, il torrente Capriasca, ma parecchie valli o ruscelli alimentano il bacino idrico. A partire dal 1995, alla foce del fiume, sono in corso tutta una serie di opere di miglioria e di riqualifica ambientale. Nel dicembre 2010 il Consiglio comunale di Lugano ha votato a maggioranza una parte del progetto di riqualifica ambientale sopra citato che rinaturalizza gli ultimi 200 metri di fiume, alla foce.

Cassarate is a small Swiss river flow that flows in the canton of Ticino, more precisely in the district of Lugano. Its sources are located in the upper part of the Val Colla (Mount Gazzirola and the San Lucio), not far from the border with the Province of Como. The river flows just a few steps from the city center of Lugano, on the north shore of Lake Lugano at the Lido di Lugano. Along the way bathes the municipalities of Valcolla, Corticiasca, Bidogno, Capriasca Sonvico, Lugaggia, Cadro, Lugano Canobbio and, in some cases marking the boundaries between these places. The current dock (which is limited by channeling) has a length of 18.3 kilometers with an average gradient of 7%. It has only one tributary, the river Capriasca, but several valleys or streams feeding the reservoir. Since 1995, at the mouth of the river, are in progress a series of works of improvement and upgrading of the environment. In December 2010 the City Council has voted by a majority of Lugano part of the redevelopment of the project environment that renatured above the last 200 meters of the river at the mouth.
