Geocache Description:

Find the cache in Thompson Valley near Hokah, MN. This is a kid-friendly cache that is part of the "What's Hoppening?" series. The container is large enough for trading small items. It is placed on private property with permission by the owner.

This scenic area along County Road 20 is quiet except except for the sounds of nature. You may be able to see Bald Eagles and Great Blue Herons as they come to nearby trout pond. Musical sounds of birds and insects come from the meadows and swamps . You don't have to go down into the ditch or into the culvert to find this cache. Even if you didn't bring anything to trade, kids can take one thing per family if there are several things left in the cache. You can use the magnifying glass to explore the rocks, insects, or plants, but leave it with the cache when you leave. County 20 joins Hwy 44 near Hokah and again near Caledonia, so you can follow it to see more of the valley or Peacock Ridge. But as you go up or down the narrow curves on the hill, be careful for the loose gravel and drive slowly.
