Historical Tornadoes of Texas #2 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

Cammo Waterproof Container secured. Parking in not easy, I used the old concrete plant.

This series of caches is to mark tornadoes that have struck all over Texas. The attached website has a path of every major tornado that has struck Texas in the past 80 years. I will place this cache along the path of any given tornado and give you a brief description of the tornado.

This tornado might still be fresh in the minds of some. Last major tornado to touch down in Wylie.

This tornado struck 5/9/1993, causing 1 fatalities and 63 injuries. The tornado moved in the general direction indicated on the map for 12.0 miles, reaching an estimated 99 yards in width.

The damage code shows a value of 6.0. From 1996, this is tornado property damage in millions of dollars. Prior to 1996 this is a categorization of tornado damage by dollar amount:

0 is unknown damages
1 is $5000,000,000
2 is $50 to $500
