Geocache Description:

You are looking for a custom container with a nano size log so you will need a pen. The cache is accessible from the track and is not inside the nearby fence. We think this may prove to be a little difficult to spot so have set the difficulty accordingly but will adjust if necessary.

The cache was placed the day after the hose pipe ban came into force and we wondered how handy it would be to have a working example of the nearby equipment. This location is on the route of our daily walk into the woods with the two Geohounds and adds to the number of caches around Layer. The lane leads down to the woods known locally as Chest Wood although they are actually Heather Fields. Part is managed by the Essex Wild Life Trust and the Roman River Wild Side Walk which is to be recommended.
