'Mother City' Meander Series
We thought to offer visitors and locals alike, a few caches at historical sites within an easy walking tour or alternatively a bus tour.
This is not a Multi- cache. Each cache stands alone.
The Hop On – Hop Off Red City Bus Tour stops near all the mentioned buildings. This is Stop 9
District Six was named the sixth municipal district of Cape Town in 1867 and was a vibrant mixed community of freed slaves, merchants and immigrants. In 1966 the area was declared a "white" area and over 60,000 people were forcibly removed. The museum was established in 1994 and describes the history of apartheid and it’s effects on ordinary people.
Opening times: Mondays 09.00 - 14.00. Tuesdays - Saturdays: 09.00 - 16.00
