Geocache Description:

Perhaps the City's most unique facility, the nearby Riverside Festival Stage, is located in lower City Park. It is a 470-seat outdoor theatre, which is modeled after the famous Globe Theatre in London. The facility was the brainchild of Riverside Theatre, ultimately endorsed by both the Parks and Recreation Commission and the City Council. The Riverside Festival Stage is a "Shakespearean-style" outdoor theatre facility, complete with stage, two dressing rooms, and concession stand.

This family-friendly cache is a camouflaged peanut butter jar, which was recycled as the old container of a previous hide called "Shakespeare Plays Here." The cache can be approached from either upper or lower City Park. Please camouflage the cache after logging your find.

City Park features a public outdoor swimming pool, numerous picnic areas, nice playgrounds, bocce courts, a small amusement park with five different rides for smaller children, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, a scenic bike path, and nearby, an outdoor theater.

Ample parking is available east of ground zero in Lower City Park or to the south in Upper City Park. Iowa City park hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Hunt this cache at your own risk, but most importantly, have fun!
