How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This cache fulfills the requirement for KB's Jukebox Hero Challenge. I felt the best way to commemorate this challenge was to start a brand new KB-style, cruel challenge, based on another KB-style, cruel challenge. Man that KB guy sure is a piece of work.

So the other day, I was browsing a few clever challenges. One challenge that caught my eye was The KB Challenge: Longest Streak vs. Longest Slump (GC2KBQ6). Well, since I just recently completed my 366 day streak, I easily qualified for this one. Fortunately, my longest slump is, and will remain, only a few short weeks during the first winter after I started caching.

While browsing the logs of this challenge, however, I noticed a few plaintive notes by poor cachers who'd decided to, let's say, take some time off. These unfortunate souls had decided to give up geocaching, sometimes for years at a time, and then decided at some later point to return to the game. Unfortunately, the long, long time off meant that they would likely never have a streak equal in length to qualify for the above-mentioned challenge.

Well, lazy slumpers, I have heard your sad, pathetic cries, and have taken pity upon you. If you have been lazy and have a giant slump on your record, worry no more. This challenge is for YOU!

To qualify for this challenge, your LONGEST SLUMP must be 30 days or more GREATER than your LONGEST STREAK. This means that if the longest streak on your record is, say, 100 days, you must have a SLUMP of at least 130 days to qualify for this challenge.

So take PRIDE in your slump. For the first (and probably only) time, it will work in your favor! I've even made the cache as easy to find as possible to further you in your quest for laziness. You could even bring a friend to get out of the car and grab it for you!

Now go get it! But not with too much enthusiasm. You might burn a calorie.
