Geocache Description:

This cache is dedicated to the first settlers who came to Havana Township in 1855 - Hav' an a Goodtime!

Havana Township was first settled by non-Indians in 1855 and was officially organized on February 27, 1857. It was called Lafayette until September 1858, at which time the name was changed to Freeman. A month later the name was changed again, this time to Dover. In 1869 the name became Havana, after a city in Illinois. This cache is dedicated to the first settlers who came to Havana Township - Hav' an a Goodtime!
