Geocache Description:

Come explore the St Louis Metro East Illinois superstition of the 7 Gates of He**. Easy terrain, difficult hides, narrow streets, dark superstitions.

There is a long held superstition in the Metro East area of St. Louis (Illinois) that if you drive through the 7 railroad bridges along Lebanon Road between Collinsville, O'Fallon, and Troy, Illinois (locally called the 7 Gates of He**) starting at the stroke of midnight and driving through them in the correct order that the most sinful person in the car will be ushered straight to the otherworld as you finish the 7th Gate. To familiarize locals with this superstition we decided to place geocaches at each of the 7 Gates. This cache is located at Gate number 4.

Geocaching rules dictate that we keep all cache more than 150 feet from railroad tracks, so this one is located within sight of Gate number 4.

You can read more about the 7 Gates at this local website:

Sounds like the local property owners aren't happy to have you poking around out near the street. To help make them happy please limit this cache to daylight hours only.

Good luck and happy haunting as you go on your way! BYOP

Congrats go to armycacher1 on being the FTF!
