How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Take time to walk around Denton Reservoir, owned by British Waterways. Built as a feeder for the Grantham Canal. A short walk of a few hundred yards is needed to get to ground zero.

The cache is within sight of where the canal feeder leaves the reservoir.

Parking is on verge near the start of the track at the waypoint below. Walk straight along the track, without turning right until you can see a stream flowing from your right. Follow this and you are on the way to Ground Zero.

There are a variety of footpaths in the area; a circular one around the reservoir, one along the reservoir feeder back to the village of Denton and a footpath along the southern bank of the Grantham Canal back to Harlaxton Wharf. There is also a permissive path to Denton Wharf with towpath walks along the canal from there.

Some climbing/ scrambling may be required. There are lots of trees around so reception may not be 100%. The cache is in a small box, suitable for travel bugs. Log and pencil are in place ready for you to sign.
