Geocache Description:

We are hosting this caching event to bring together geocachers and to introduce new people to the hobby. We will converge on Tully Park and spend a few minutes showing the crowd big banners and "picket signs" held up high with geocaching logos.

A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.

This is part of the World Wide Flash Mob IX occurring simultaneously around the globe organized by Team PodCacher. Check out a list of all of the other scheduled WWFM IX events that will occur simultaneously around the world.

(Groundspeak has given permission for any WWFM IX event to link to the above website.)

You've heard of geocaching mega-events? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. It is sort of like a micro event, but with many of these events occurring world wide all at the same time. Flash mobs have also gathered for other reasons, besides Geocaching (visit link) Come be part of this historic event! Only 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign the log sheet DURING this time to claim the event. Please bring your own pen.

The "2" difficulty is for the fact that the limited time will make it tough to log if you aren't prompt and diligent...Also, First to Find bragging rights will be awarded in a drawing from the names of the volunteers running the event.

Do not show up prior to 9:00 AM. Wander around nearby and "act normal" but not at the site. For the Flash Mob to have its full effect, we must appear to come from nowhere and disappear just as quickly. The event must begin precisely at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June, 9th. At exactly 9:00 AM, rush to the posted coordinates with your banners, signs, gps receivers held up high etc.

At precisely 9:15 AM, disperse! and the event officially will be over. Hide your banners; lower your signs; put away your gps receivers; and quickly leave the area. This is how a Flash Mob works.

We hope to have a "good showing" of cachers at this event. Tell your friends and help promote the event. Bring them along, they do not have to be geocachers to enjoy the Flash Mob.

As a note: The 7th Annual Rawlins Brownbag Event that starts at 10:00 AM on June 9th is a short drive from this event.
