Geocache Description:

Actress Fay Wray was born on a ranch southwest of Cardston. By age 14, she lived in Los Angeles and began her career in film. She was in her teens when she started working as an extra at Universal and played a heroine in westerns during the silent era before transitioning into the 'talkies'.

Fay found fame when she got the lead in Erich von Stroheim's 'The Wedding March' (1928). She starred in a number of films until 1932, when she became the first "scream queen," appearing in horror flicks such as 'Doctor X', 'The Vampire Bat', and 'The Most Dangerous Game'.

In 1933 Fay was approached by producer Merian C. Cooper, who told her that he had a part for her in a picture in which she would be working with a tall, dark leading man.
....What he didn't tell her was that her leading man was a giant gorilla.

This cache is a two-parter. Your first stop will be at the at the Fay Wray monument in Cardston. Find the commemorative plaque, read up on the actress's history, and then use the information provided there to figure out the missing four numbers of the coordinates (in decimal degrees) to the cache's final location:

N. 49.****80
W. 113.300310

To get the numbers:
1. Locate the age of her sister Vaida beneath the photo of the Wray children.

2. Subtract Vaida's age from the year that Fay was inducted as an honorary Blood Indian Princess.

The coordinates will lead you to a camouflaged micro-cache containing a logbook and some tiny treasures. BRING YOUR OWN PEN OR PENCIL. The final location is a short walk from the monument and next to convenient parking, but close to houses and businesses. Use stealth!

JUST A HEADS UP: The coordinates are in decimal degrees, not D/M/S. Most GPS units will be able to read these, but make certain yours does, or know how to do the conversion. Here's a site that will do so for you HERE.

There used to be a cache hidden in the area of the monument, but it got moved, tampered with, and muggled a lot. Appreciation goes out to THE WILDE ONES, who were the owners of the original.
