Dobson's Pond Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BET BIL: Went out to replace the full log, and while I was there I was approached by the young neighbour lady. She and here family are geocachers also. Her husband wanted to set up a cache at a nearby lane so that they could watch the cachers coming and going, but it would be to close to this cache. The lane has a safer spot to park than this location. Since this one has been in play for some time I decided to archive it and give them a chance to set up their own cache. I will have to keep an eye to see when it gets published.

Geocache Description:

A quick park and grab. Bragging rights only for the FTF. BYOP.

In my youth, there was a dam to the east of the road and a large pond that was called Dobson's Pond. My older brothers used to bring me here to go swimming. In the mid 70's during the spring thaw the damn gave way and washed out the road. The road was replaced and a large culvert was put in. The dam was never replaced and the trees have grown in where the pond once was.
