How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

There needed to be another letterbox hybrid in the area. You can access it from either Rainier or Tenino on the trail. It gives you a reason to bust out the ol' bike or go on an old fashioned walk. Please put it back as you found it.

Letterboxing is another form of treasure hunting using clues instead of coordinates. In some cases, the letterbox owner has made their container both a letterbox and a geocache and posted its coordinates on Geocaching.com. If there is a stamp inside a Letterbox Hybrid, it is not an item intended for trade; the stamp is meant to remain in the box so that visitors can use it to record their visit.

For All Letterboxers: Once you have found the cache, please stamp the Letterboxing logbook with your stamp, and stamp your book with the stamp provided in the cache.

DO NOT take rubber stamp (or inkpad)! Please leave them in the cache container.

More information can be found about letterboxing at (visit link)

For all letterboxers, here are your directions:

From the Yelm-Tenino Trail, it is located near mile marker 6.5, turn south towards 507 and walk over the hump and into the brush. Continue roughly 60 feet to a 6ish trunked tree. Cache is a rectangular cammoed container with foliage on top of it.
