How old do you think libraries are…a few hundred years, perhaps? It might surprise you to find out that the first library dates to 2600 BC. The city of Nineveh (NOT the one in Indiana!!) had a well developed library with a very detailed classification system in 700 BC. That’s quite amazing when you think about it. Of course, those libraries were clay tablets instead of books, but nevertheless, it’s fascinating to ponder what an early library might have been like.
Today’s libraries bear little resemblance to those of yore. Modern day libraries are much more than books….many of them are complete research facilities with thousands of books, internet access, meeting rooms and lecture halls, workshops and guest speakers, cultural and musical programs, and so much more.
The Irvington library is a newer facility that showcases how Irvington is a great place to raise a family. You’ll often see families here enjoying a few hours of reading, browsing, listening to music, or perhaps attending an event or workshop together.
The cache is not on library property, but rather in a public area nearby. Stealth may be required to grab this cache.
