Geocache Description:

Anybody who has been to Hyrum knows that the infamous wind blows out of Blacksmith Fork Canyon on a regualr basis. The reason for this is during the daytime, mountain slopes warm causing the air over the slope to be warmer than the air over the valley. Warming the air causes it to rise upwards creating a valley wind that blows up the canyon. Then during the night, the air chills due to a loss of surface heat and the cool dense air moves down the canyon as a mountain wind blowing into Hyrum. The greater the difference in temperature the faster the wind blows out of the canyon. So now you know!
