Nearby the GZ, there are Yuen Long Theatre, Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School, Yuen Long Town Hall, and also swimming pool and sports ground.
In Hong Kong, town halls are place for performing arts, excepts Yuen Long Town Hall. Yuen Long Town Hall actually serves as community hall. Before Yuen Long Theatre opened in 2000, performing arts venue of Yuen Long was Lut Sau Hall.
Why Yuen Long Town Hall not as performing arts venue but named as “town hall”? I’ll tell you face by face if you interested.
Lut Sau Hall, actually was the hall of Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School, government has renovated the school for local performing events. After Yuen Long Theatre opened, the name of “Lut Sau Hall” on the front door was demolished. Only the Chinese fairy girls decoration left. The school is still operating.
