Welcome to the Poirier Office Road Series (POR), dedicated to legendary Thoroughbred racehorses.
This series begins at one of New Brunswick's 83 covered bridges. Grab the cache that is there, and fasten your seatbelts. There will be a variety of hides. Expect the unexpected. Sometimes you'll be required to think outside the box, sometimes you'll need to persevere when your patience will be wearing thin. Enjoy the ride, enjoy the run.
I have dedicated the series to legendary THOROUGHBRED RACEHORSES, these amazing, graceful, beautiful animals that most of us have at the very least have heard about.....
ZENYATTA
Zenyatta was purchased as a yearling at the low price of $60,000 because she suffered from a form of ringworm. During her career she won purses totaling over $7 million making her the all-time North American female money-earner. She has been featured in W magazine, and the New York Times called her "hard to beat, and harder to ignore" in the 2010 racing season. Zenyatta won the Eclipse Award for Horse of the Year in 2010. She was born on April Fool's Day. Zenyatta stands at 17.2 hands high, as tall as many draft horses, and taller than other notably large thoroughbreds like Man 'O War (16.2 hands), Forego (17 hands), and Secretariat (16.2 hands). Zenyatta had her first foal this year, and will no doubt become a great broodmare.
