Number eight in a fact-filled series filled with facts!
To the south of this cache lies the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (née Jeffco Airport).
Few know the story of the airport's origins. It is easily observed that the mesa is far too small to allow any reasonably sized plane to land.
In fact the western end of the airport is made entirely of fill dirt held up by a massive retaining wall to provide enough landing strip to make the airport useful.
In 1902 this was just a wind-swept mesa. In July of that year, an experimental aircraft flown by Eleanor Roosevelt made an emergency landing on the mesa. Mrs. Roosevelt narrowly escaped with her life.
As the top of the mesa was unreachable by foot, increasingly larger airplanes were necessary to fly in rescue crews, each subsequent crew rescuing the last.
This alone spurred the rapid innovation in aircraft design that brought us to the present day. Eventually a self-sustaining community called Broomfield was born to supply thirsty rescuers with treacle and honey.

You're looking for a nice sized camo'd container. Initial contents:
* log
* pen
* bubble soap
* squirt gun
* Play-doh
* Flarp Putty (evidently "Flarp" is more marketable that "fart", but let's call it what it is; it's a toy you squish and it farts)
* 3 skinny glow sticks
* 1 geocaching glow stick

Some day I'm going to set up a cache with the description "DO NOT OPEN THE LID LABELLED "A" BECAUSE A FOG HORN WILL BLAST". People who don't bother reading descriptions will be unpleasantly surprised. >:|
