Geocache Description:

Second cache in the Lord of the Rings series. You must find the first 16 caches to unlock the coordinates for the last 4 caches. You do not necessarily need to do them in order, but the numbering scheme follows the progression of the story. See the Introduction and Helpful Info page for more details on the series.

After you retrieved the ring from Gollum's lake, Gandalf the Wizard has his suspicions about what this ring may be, and tells you to keep it hidden and keep it safe. Gandalf soon finds out that this ring is indeed the One Ring that was lost by Sauron, and that Sauron desperately wants it back and has sent out riders cloaked in black to hunt it down, called Ringwraiths or Nazgûl. They have learned the whereabouts of the Ring and are headed to the Shire.

After learning that the Nazgûl are on their way to the Shire (where YOU live, BTW), Gandalf gives you some great advice: get yo booty outta there! He says he has some business to attend to (his weekly poker game), and that he will meet you in a small tavern in the town of Bree many miles from home, called the Prancing Pony.

To get there though, you will have to cross the Baranduin River (rendered as "Brandywine" in the hobbits' manner of speaking). There is a small bridge crossing the river, where Gandalf has hidden a small cache with goodies and clues to help you on your way. Beware though, because the Nazgûl are out there...
