BRO!!
It’s all his fault.
Our brother, electra1315, was the first in the family to start geocaching and it’s all his fault we now have this obsessive, compulsive hobby. No more carefree weekends; no more free evenings with nothing to do but watch TV. We have to be out in the woods or swamps, searching for that camouflaged, hidden treasure in hopes of gaining another smiley face. Or we are on the computer plotting our next strategies or recording our recent victories.
But, then again, we have had some great fun and have visited some amazing places and met some wonderful people, all due to geocaching. So, thanks a lot, Bro!!
So here’s our solute to our bro and his 1000 finds. This cache is hidden in Beechwood State Park, which was a Girl Scout camp at one time before the state took it over in 1999. The park is 150 acres along Lake Ontario and is undeveloped, but it’s a great place to explore. Many of the old, abandoned buildings are still there, with nice hiking trails and two good parking spots. There’s an old outhouse (which isn’t so nice) but not much else. So bring your own picnic and have fun. There are a few other caches nearby.
We had trouble getting good cords, even though we took many readings. If you stay on the main trail most of the way, you can pick up a side trail at N43 16.112 W077 02.001. The cache is just off this trail.
Bro, of course, was given a head start in finding this cache.
