The cache is hidden in a painted ammo canister not more than 40 feet off the trail less than 100 yards from the lake shore.
The cache is hidden less than a quarter mile in from the opposite end of the trail from the ranger's station. The trail is an easy walk. If you walk the whole trail you will have to ford a small stream a couple of times. As long as you're not hiking after a significant rain it shouldn't be any problem.
