The Chachapoyan Fertility Idol, is a fictitious artifact that appeared in the opening sequence of Raiders of the Lost Ark. In the movies, Indiana Jones quest for this artifact involved hiking through the Peruvian jungle, and you will have to hike off trail a little ways to get to the cache location. As always, be safe and be careful.
The cache is a lock and lock container large enough for multiple trackables and other swag items. The cache has a custom logbook that resembles a U.S. Passport. There are 10 numbered laminated cards in the cache that depict the idol on its pedestal in a jungle environment.
There is also a very rare 1.5inch figurine of the Fertility Idol in the cache. This figurine is an import from Tomu Yujin from Japan, and was never released into the United States.
Each cache in this seven part series will contain a set of their own custom, numbered laminated cards, as well as a rare figurine from Tomy Yujin, that represents the artifact the cache is based on. Remember, if you take something, please leave something. I hope you enjoy the series!
NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardy. Special permission to hide caches in St. Louis County parks is NOT needed as long as the Groundspeak rules are followed. "Blanket Permission" has been worked out in advance with the park service. DO NOT CALL THE PARK as they cannot handle the calls. The Groundspeak cache reviewer does need to know exactly how and where the caches are hidden and what type of containers are used. The geocaching liaisons will notify the park service of new caches. Remember NO AMMO BOXES or PVC PIPE caches.
