Geocache Description:

Yellow Olympic Ring - Cache #12 (Bonus)

By agreement of the members of the creation team, The Sussex Olympic Rings group of 65 caches will be archived on September 19th, 2016. Thanks for your understanding.

This series of 65 puzzle caches has been placed to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. Each ring is set by different cachers and contains 11 or 12 hides plus a bonus. The whole design is over 4km across. You will need to find all caches for a ring in order to find the bonus and complete the ring.

There are three Medal caches above the rings, Bronze, Silver and Gold. See the Bonus cache descriptions for how to find them. See the Gold Medal cache page for full series credits.

Congratulations to:

Southseakers Recruit

for a well-earned FTF !! We know how much work and effort went into this. Well done!!!

The cache is NOT at the given coordinates.

At the time of placing, the cache contains the logbook, a small pencil and sharpener (though best to bring your own pen), and a few swaps including some Olympic/Paralympic goodies!

As this is the bonus cache, it also contains a prize for the first person to complete the Yellow Ring!

The Final Hurdle!

To find the final bonus cache you will need to have completed the other 11 caches in the Yellow ring and collected the bonus information given in each one. This is given on the front page of each log book. Please note them carefully and keep them somewhere safe!

Use the information you have collected to reveal the coordinates of this final cache.

Note added July 2013: The area allocated to the Yellow Ring was not conducive to creating a neat little circuit, so we cannot apologise for the fact that the caches are spread out over several different parts of it. This includes the bonus cache which is a bit out on its own. When planning your route to pick up Yellow Ring caches, you might want to bear in mind that the bonus is easiest to access after finding #3 or #4 (second best).

In the cache (on the front page of the logbook) you will find a password to be used towards the Bronze, Silver and Gold Medal caches.

Yellow Ring Note: As you will by now have gathered, the Yellow Ring is themed on the

PARALYMPICS

The COs of this ring have for many years had a particular interest in the problems of the disabled and it has been a bit of a disappointment that the area in which the caches have had to be placed is largely unsuitable for setting caches for this significant group (e.g. caches with wheelchair access) though, of course, the broader challenges of the series as a whole could not have been channelled their way. It is hoped, however, that the puzzles (and not just those in this ring) will provide some entertainment and challenges for both the disabled and able-bodied!

We are also happy that we have been given this unique opportunity to raise awareness of at least some aspects of disability to the able-bodied amongst the caching community, and to relay the massive message of hope that the Paralympics gives to those less fortunate.
