Devon is a really beautiful County, it is blessed with such a wide diversity of landscapes. We have the two Moorland National parks of, Dartmoor & Exmoor, where solitude in today's busy world, can be left behind. The rolling hill's and farmlands, with a criss-crossing of leafy lanes & footpath's. We have wonderful walking beside some of our many river's, which include the Dart, Teign, Exe, Bovey, Taw, Torridge, Tavy, Erme, Plym, Otter, and many more. These rivers flow through exciting & stunning valley's. Many Common area's, such as Woodbury & Aylesbeare Common's, where the Dartford Warbler's can be seen. There is also Haldon forest, which has a centre for walking, cycling, bird watching & also a Butterfly walk. Cycle trails are being created more & more. We have the Tarka trail in North Devon, which can be cycled from near Hatherleigh as far as Braunton, a distance of approximately 50 miles. The Tarka trail is also a long distant trail for walkers, a distance of about 180 miles. The cycle trail is now open from Exmouth to Exeter. And also on the Exeter canal. Cycle trails are in several other places, which include, the Plymouth - Bickleigh trail. & many more if you search them out. We have a great and varied coastline, that takes in the South west coast-path. exhilarating cliff top walks, here you will spot the soaring Kestrel's, Stonechat's, Meadow Pipits, Ravens, Skylarks etc. Seals can be seen close to shore, especially on the north Devon coast. you may even glimpse a Dolphin or a Basking shark. If you want to be less energetic, we have many lovely beaches to laze on, from Pebbled to Sandy ones.
