Geocache Description:

The "Giant Series" of lesser known state lands in the Deposit area continues with one of my favorite spots: Columbia Lake state forest. This hike is roughly 1.5 miles roundtrip on a maintained path and has a steady incline on the approach. Enjoy! Congrats to Tundra Wolf on FTF!

Although I enjoy the "pitter patter" of our little ones on most outings, I reserve this hike for myself and surrounding nature. The trail is well maintained and the forest is scenic with valley vistas just above the tree lines on all sides. The cache location is a spot that blocks you off from the rest of the world and the cache is a watertight phone box with room for a few tradeables. Park at the Columbia Lake state forest trail head (Just off of Columbia Lake Road on McCabe Hollow Road) and follow the trail most of the way to the cache.
