This puzzle cache provides a brief tour of the business end of Charlton's Historic District. The Town of Charlton was established in 1792 and is very rich in local history.
This puzzle cache begins at the red schoolhouse in the hamlet of Charlton at the provided coordinates for this cache (N 42 56.107, W 73 57.624). You can park in the driveway of the schoolhouse and the entire cache can be done on foot as you collect some historical dates to complete the cache coordinates. The first two clues can be found near the schoolhouse parking area. Beware of muggle activity near the schoolhouse and the gazebo.

Head down Maple Avenue and turn right in front of the Charlton Tavern. The Gideon Hawley Memorial Park is located a short distance down Charlton Road on the right. A brass historical sign is located in the park near the gazebo (N 42 56.054, W 73 57.740).
The Charlton Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 19C6 (see the brass sign).
