Geocache Description:


This a regular size lock n lock container. Please follow the trailhead to avoid trespassing (trail along the water's edge.) Replace camo to avoid muggling!!

A letter of marque is a formal document which issued by a government to a citizen to allow him or her to seize goods or citizens of other nations. Essentially, a letter of marque creates a legal pirate. A citizen with a letter of marque was historically allowed to outfit a ship for the purpose of piracy, taking that ship beyond national waters and attacking enemy shipping.

A Letter of Marque would read something like this:

Sir Sebastien, Knight of the Most Honourable Order of the FamilleCOTE, Governor, and Commander-in-Chief, in and over His Majesty’s Province of Ontario, and its Dependencies, vice Admiral of the same, to all who shall see these presents, Greeting: BE IT KNOWN,That in pursuance of an act of congress, passed on the 26th day of June one thousand eight hundred and twelve, I have Commissioned, and by these presents do commission, the privates involved in the hunt called Geocaching, hereby authorizing Captains, lieutenants, and the other officers of such treasure hunting crews thereof, to subdue, seize, and take any armed or unarmed cache containers, which shall be found within the close proximity of the provided coordinates, and such captured treasure, with her logbook, tradables, geocoins or travel bugs, and the goods or effects which shall be found on board the same cache, together with all the other geocachers and others who shall find the said container, to sign the logbook; and also to log their find, trade goods, and boast of such finding in due form of law, and as to right and justice shall appertain. This commission to continue in force during the pleasure of the cache owner for the time being. GIVEN under my hand and seal of the geocaching community, at the City of Midland, the twelfth day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen and of the independence of the said states the thirty ninth.
