You probably thought this would be a tribute to a famous television show - bazinga! It's not.
Today, May 4th 2012 marks the end of a slice of history. The Royal Canadian Mint stopped producing the penny. This is the first time since it began producing them in 1858 we won't have new ones made (aside from blips in time like war, etc.)
In recognition of this, I made The Blue Quasar dig 100 of them out of my coin jar while I was putting the cache together (jokes on him - I only used 10) and placed them in there. Take them, use them, sell them - I've got many more.
