In the former municipality of Viðvíkursveit in Skagafjörður.
The settlement of Skagafjörður began in Viðvík, and later the municipality of Viðvíkurhreppur was formed. In Hofstaðir Kolsveinn rammi a settler of the farm Kolsveinsstaðir built his temple. Later a church was built here, during the catholic period of Icelandic Christianity churches here to honor Maria mother of god.
One can enjoy nice view from the cache spot.
