Tiberius Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ksuzuki007: I do believe Tiberius has been ousted from his palace. In fact the palace, itself, is gone! Tiberius has never been popular with the Senate or the people, but I didn't think they'd raze the whole palace. WOW. If Tiberius ever returns to political life, he needs to reevaluate his past mistakes and try to get along with people a little better.

Geocache Description:

The Twelve Caesars

This series is dedicated to the Twelve Caesars of the Roman Empire. They didn’t always have staying power as rulers but 2000 years have past and half of these guys are house-hold names.

Most of the following information is taken from the work of Suetonius, who’s biography of Julius Caesar and the first eleven Emperors of the Roman Empire was written in 121 AD.

Tiberius Julius Caesar Augustus
Second Emperor of the Roman Empire

16 November 42 BC – 16 March 37 AD

Tiberius was the adopted step-son of Agustus. He is known to have been a good general and competent emperor. He is remembered, however, for being difficult, reclusive, paranoid and cruel. He died of natural causes at the age of 77 upon which citizens rejoiced in the streets. His actual character is still up for debate, but it is known that he left the Roman Empire far wealthier than he found it. James T. Kirk, captain of the Starship Enterprise’s middle name is Tiberius.

First To Find may claim a Brass Replica Roman coin.
