Geocache Description:

Restored as a wildlife pond in 2002, the Jubilee Pond in the south west corner of Western Wanstead Flats is favoured by feral pigeons, carrion crow, and Canada Goose.

Perennially short of water despite there being a 65m borehole specifically to keep levels up, it even has a sluice at the south-eastern corner, optimistically placed to prevent overflowing.

In 2013, using money from the Met Police - as a recompense for use of the flats as an Olympic muster point, a further refurbishment took place. The ponds have been relined and many new features added like new benches, an accessible pathway, a play area, and a dipping platform.

Both the 308 and 58 buses stop on Dames Road next to the pond.
