This cache will be archived on May 1, 2013This is one of a series of ten Geocaches which was placed along the Long Bark Trail in Oakwoods Metropark nature study area in connection with the "Pull together For Nature 2" event held on National Trails day, June 2. Welcome to the bottom of Lake Maumee. It is 16,000 B.C., the surface is 200 feet straight up and the shore is near Ypsilanti. It us now 8,000 B.C. and the sandy knoll you are standing on is a dune along the shore of Lake Lundy. Where is the lake today? About 10 miles east, it is Lake Erie!
This cache is located within Oakwoods Metropark, a part of the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority park system. A Metropark Vehicle Entry Permit is required: Annual Permit $25. Senior Permit $15. Daily Permit $5.
