Geocache Description:

Warbstow Cross and Bury circular walk. Its about 2 and half miles through Warbstow Bury Iron Age fort fields and lanes. A series of 12 caches through variety of fields, lanes and tracks. You will need wellies as some of it is a bit dire. You have been warned!!!

Warbstow Bury is the second largest and best preserved Iron Age fort in Cornwall with massive ramparts. It was built approximately 2500 years ago as a tribal stronghold and residence of the local aristocracy and was probably abandoned in the first century AD after the Roman conquest. There are panoramic views over the surrounding countryside on a clear day. Unfortunately we chose a day where we "mist" the view; gutted but will return on sunny day so we have to trust the description of this walk. There is a style that is not dog friendly. my poor geohound nosedived and got mud on his face. A dog with longer legs will be fine or lighter and can be lifted easily.
