Geocache Description:

Located in Sauðárkrókur, you need to follow your nose to find this one and take a short stroll from the centre of town to the local port. Beware lots of worker Muggles around during the day, best times are weekends and evenings.

Drying fish in the open is a technique used by Icelanders for centuries, here you can see fish drying in the open on racks, these dried fish are sold in Nigeria where they are used mainly to make soup.

Due to construction work the original cache no longer exists and most of the original drying racks have gone although one is still in use. As this location is the private property of Fisk (although people are free to walk around there) I have decided to make this any easy puzzle/virtual cache, so no actual cannister to be found. All you need to do is read the sign at the coordinates which explains about the open air fish drying technique and the export of the fish to Nigeria. To be able to log this cache you need to email to me the name of the boat pictured on the sign, I will confirm if correct and then you can log a find for the cache, please do not name the boat when logging on the website.
