Geocache Description:

THESE COORDINATES ARE NOT EXACT! They have been changed to allow space for the Athens County History Geotrail, so please proceed to the historical marker instead of the exact coordinates.

This cache will take you to a historical marker telling you a little about the history of Albany. You’re looking for a lock-and-lock covered in camo tape. Because this is a “fancy” cache, please keep to the spirit of the cache by leaving only “fancy” swag!

Back in November, suzilovesadam and ktannieh stumbled upon our first cache on a hiking trip (suzilovesadam exclaimed excitedly, “I found treasure!”) and managed to snag a ONE MILLION dollar bill on our swag exchange. When we returned home, our first cache together was a (now archived) cache in Albany, from which we snagged a pearl necklace. With that, we determined to take only the fanciest swag from each cache we visited. This is the first cache placed by either of us, and in honor of the occasion we decided to leave the fancy swag we gained from several caches for others to enjoy, along with a few BRAND SPANKIN’ NEW fancy items!

FTF prize is a $5 gift certificate from Sherry’s Floral Designs. Happy caching!

Congrats to Limpid green & white and ApparitionCacher for the co-FTF!

Note: Now that this cache is getting some extra attention from its proximity to the new Athens County History Geotrail, please rehide this cache just as well or better than you found it. Thanks!
