Geocache Description:

This is an easy cache that is on my property. It’s on the side of my house, between the sidewalk and my fence. There is also a camera in the cache, I’d love you to use it to take a few pictures if you want. How to work the camera is also explained in more detail below.

This cache replaces “Water the Lawn”, GC1QJ2B; that was put out on 4/25/2009, just a week after I had started caching. That cache has 93 Finds and 64 images, most of them from the camera that was in the cache.

The neighborhood kids knew about the cache and would take pictures and trade, take or play with the toys; I didn’t mind at all. But a few months ago the camera went missing, along with everything else and even after I replaced a log book, it too was gone in less than a week.

Then, a gopher, mole or whatever; filled the cache in with dirt, burying the container. So my boy and I decided to get serious. No gopher is going to be able to get into the cache now.
Keeping the old cache vs. making a new cache: I hated to archive the old cache, but I decided even though it’s in the same spot and almost the same cache, it has been drastically changed.
The old cache was out for over 3 years, this will give those who already found it, a chance to re-find it.

The Camera: I really like pictures. A picture is worth a thousand words. You certainly don’t need to take a picture, but I’d love it if you did. I’ll really try to keep a camera in the cache. The camera in there now turns on by sliding the square lens cover down, which turns the camera on. There is a zoom on the back and the shutter release is on the top. There really isn’t any need to change any other setting. Take as many pictures as you like, then slide the square lens cover back up to turn the camera off. Check out my picture gallery for lots of pictures.
The second red button on the back below the zoom button, turns the flash on or off. There is a silver switch on the side that has close-up (a flower) and normal (mountain). Unless you are shooting a really close picture. The Mountain setting is better.
