I have spent a lot of time roaming the woods of Gulf State Park. Every now and then I come across something that makes me go "Hmmm", as I wonder why it is there. This caches location is no different. I had passed this area at least a hundred times before I noticed it and immediately thought "Hmmm", I wonder if there is room for a cache there. It would be interesting to know why it is here. You can find some appropriate search music here. Enjoy the cache.
The cache is located on the Gulf Oakridge portion of the Hugh S. Branyon Back Country Trail. I have included a link to a trail map. Android phone users can also find an App for the Back Country Trail here. iPhone users can find an app here.
Update: Sadly, this cache is not what it used to be. Heavy machinery came through to clean up after a fire and busted the cache's hiding place from it's foundation. I have placed a piece of wood over the exposed base to protect both the cache and the cacher and place it's container on top. Hopefully it won't walk away.
I hope you have enjoyed all the geocaches we have placed in Gulf State Park, along with the rest of your experience here Please consider giving us some feedback here. We would appreciate it if you would include something about your geocaching experience. We hope to show the bosses in Montgomery how many people geocache, in hopes that they will encourage other Parks to invest in it like we have, here at Gulf State Park. Thanks, Dothenumbers.
