Nello splendido parco dell'ex Manicomio di Mombello, nei pressi della fantastica villa Crivelli-Pusterla dove soggiornò Napoleone nel 1797.

La villa si presenta con una forma a ferro di cavallo, con la facciata, ornata da due semi torri, rivolta a levante. La costruzione risale al XIV secolo per volere dei Pusterla che la utilizzavano come dimora suburbana. L'aspetto della villa in quel tempo erano quelle di una fortezza-palazzo dalla forma quadrata: gli edifici, molto semplici, occupavano i quattro lati lungo una corte chiusa e un bastione la recingeva. Si pensa anche che fosse molto più antica, risalente addirittura al medioevo.
Nel 1797, Napoleone Bonaparte per la sua bellezza preferì la villa Crivelli alla Reggia di Monza e vi insediò il suo quartier generale. Qui prese la decisione di creare la Repubblica Cisalpina. Napoleone fece anche celebrare il matrimonio delle sue sorelle Elisa e Paolina nell’ oratorio dei Crivelli, l’oratorio dedicato a San Francesco è la chiesetta che avete vicino.
Oggi l’edificio è sede dell’Istituto Tecnico Agrario Statale Luigi Castiglioni. Il nome gli deriva dall’illuminista italiano Luigi Castiglioni che abitò la villa per un breve periodo durante la seconda metà del ‘700 e ne utilizzò il parco per i suoi studi botanici, per i quali fu premiato da Napoleone .
