Geocache Description:

NOTE: For those visitors that may get intimidated by the DOGS that live at the nearby house and do not want to get out of their vehicle because of them (regardless of how "friendly" those dogs may seem), PLEASE FEEL FREE AND LOG THIS CACHE AS F-O-U-N-D!!! Do NOT want anyone, especially small children, having any type of incident with those dogs while playing a silly game. Those dogs are supposedly friendly, so I am told, however...... The "DOG" icon for the attributes is more of a WARNING about those nearby dogs than what the icon is meant to stand for. Was bum-rushed by 3 rather large dogs while bringing my sister here to search for this cache, and we decided NOT to get out of vehicle.

Here is a small cemetery in SW rural Geary County that I finally made a trip to just to place a cache inside (while in area of Geary County Lake for some fishing).

To get to this cemetery, travel is probably best going north/south on US Hwy 77; turn west at the intersection with West Lyon Creek Road. Travel west a few miles until this road intersects with Wolf Road. There will be a sign pointing the way to cemetery at this intersection (see reference photo 1). Turn north onto Wolf Road and cemetery is approximately 1/4 mile north of intersection just past a white house hidden by trees. There will be a limestone marker for cemetery on east side of Wolf Road (see reference photo 2). West Lyon Creek Road is paved. However, Wolf Road is gravel and should be able to travel fairly well in inclement weather - any further north past cemetery is quite questionable.

This is what I found on a plaque on the cemetery marker: "Mount Zion Baptist Church was organized June 7, 1881. The church relocated to Junction City in 1960, and is now known as Highland Baptist Church".

Depending on how you park your vehicle, there will be a short hike to hidey-spot, nothing to brag about. Cache that you will be searching for is a small plastic container. Due to overhead cover, coordinates may be a bit off so container is hidden roughly 8'-10' radius of coordinates - tried to be as accurate as possible.

Remember that this is a cemetery so please observe any/all rule/regulations that may be posted and that we all have read on other page write-ups concerning cemeteries.

UPDATE: April 11, 2014 - There USED to be some cedar trees where GZ places you and you had to search the trees for container. Trees are NO LONGER there. Just go to GZ and check the barb wire fence north of there, then east - should be a quick find.
